s'more Labor Day please :)

I'd love a repeat of our Labor Day, pretty please :)

Above are pictures from our s'more fest up at the Kjar's cabin...the only pictures I took of our Labor Day getaway. Adam's pretty proud of me for being able to resist taking pictures of every little thing...but for some reason Sunday and Monday I just wanted to sit and soak it all in...
the beautiful Monte Cristo scenery surrounding the cabin,
no distractions from TV, computers, or cell phones,
eating amazing food with amazing people,
laughing and enjoying stories told by Adam and his family of the good ol' days,
playing games (mainly Boggle:),
seeing Brooks become more of a boy and less of a baby with every passing minute,
and spooning Adam on the couch in the middle of the afternoon on a Monday :)

I'm so grateful for Labor Day and why we celebrate it. What a blessing it is to have labor/work that provides for ourselves and our families. Adam is such a hard worker...and words won't do justice to describe just how lucky I am to have him as the breadwinner of our family, especially because it allows me to stay home with our son. Tonight I am feeling so blessed.

Hope everyone had a lovely Labor Day weekend!

last weekend

Last weekend was pretty fantastic. It was a 3-day weekend which definitely brought it up a notch.
It involved delish frozen yogurt with cousins (Landon & Alyse), a trip to the cabin with the Kjars, and a spontaneous sushi date night. I'm excited for another great weekend!! Life is good :)

SATURDAY:

SUNDAY:
{ above: homemade french fries, burgers, and chocolate ice-cream made with Reed's Dairy chocolate milk
below: our little guys "wrestling"...starting 'em early! }
{ above: fun jumping on the mattresses on the back deck (meant for sleeping under the stars:)
below: Brooks and Samson chilling on the famous ski-bench }

MONDAY:
{ above: the Lollipop roll at Happy Sumo...YUM. No rice, and it's wrapped in cucumber instead of seaweed }
{ above: Brooks' new OOOOOhhhhh-face with his "sushi" (aka gold fish crackers). And the most delicious tempura banana split for dessert }

A great weekend does the body good :)

PS

And for a fun celebration of Pioneer Day (mentioned in my last post/letter to you) we're heading up to the Kjar cabin with the fam...in about 20 minutes! Oh I'm so excited! I told Daddy we should probably walk up from the main gate (2.5 miles), up the windy dirt roads to the cabin, in honor of the pioneer's ;) He didn't this so...use what we've got! --> thank goodness for cars.

It's been almost a year since we were there last...you were so little, just barely sitting up :) Now you'll be able to run around, inside and outside! Lately you've started saying "ooooo!" and making the cutest surprised and expressive looks (kind of like your little light bulb is going off with all the new things you're learning)...I'm sure we'll be seeing lots of those expressions up there the next couple days as you explore the cabin on your own! :)

Here are few pictures from the last time we were there (September 2010). You were just 6 months my sweet boy!
