Post Bath Snuggles

Fresh out of the tub, snuggly and silly as ever.
I love those two. So. Much.

PS - I adore your giggles in the tub

It's dark in the video, because I didn't have the light on and there was only the evening sunlight coming in the bathroom window...but oh your sweet and hilarious giggles are clear as day and I love it! Thanks for humoring me with my ridiculous noises and faces...I'll do whatever it takes to hear your laughter sweet Ava. :) And when your brother decides to wake up from his late nap, he'll hop in with you and you'll have a giggle-fest together. I have no doubt about it.

No matter how long it's been...

You know those friends that you don't get to see nearly as often as you'd like...as in, years pass between hugs? But no matter how long it's been it only takes a few minutes of talking that you're cheeks hurt from laughing so hard (that's for you Shay;) and it feels like you're back in middle school all over again, talking about cute boys and sharing Lip Smackers...except now you're talking about your cute husbands and sharing red lipstick. haha!  Well, that's what it was like last week. I loved kicking off the new year going out to lunch with old friends...two of my best friends, Makinzie and Shalyn. Goodness I love those two! And it was pretty awesome watching our three little ones together (missing Brooks who spent the afternoon with Daddy) who were born just weeks apart. Ava was one lucky lady spending the day with cute Brody and Lincoln. ;)

Love and miss you ladies already! xo

PS - Remember this Kinz and Shay?? General Conference weekend, April 2007...good times. :)

Laughter, the best medicine.

Along with taking baths and swimming with pigs and penguins (see last post), we also sing and dance when we're feeling under the weather. Yep, we're an odd bunch. The kids and I were going stir-crazy because we hadn't been out of the house in days, so we had to do something to make to mix it up. :) In between runny noses and hacking coughs, we managed to create this little ditty. I couldn't help but grab my phone to record it, and now Adam and I can both be known for our silly antics with our kids. If you know me, you know I'm corny...but singing and dancing with my littles takes it to the next level. ;) Watching it over and over again with Brooks, we laughed and sang along to our original little "song"...love that boy! And they say laughter is the best medicine right??

PS - Watch for Brooks' crazy eyes at 0:13...cracks me up every time.
PPS - Next time we'll catch a smile from sweet Ava!

May all your Christmases be whi-i-i-ite...

I shared this video two years ago...it was taken three years ago, when our little Brooks was in my belly and my family was at our home for Christmas. SUCH good memories! And seeing as my sister Corrie (she and I made up this little duet) is in Chile serving her mission and I miss her like crazy, I have watched it, and laughed at us, three times already today. Enjoy some festive lip-syncing by two of the goofiest sisters on the planet. Next time Natalie and Celeste will join to make it a quartet!

HAPPY CHRISTMAS!

Ugly Sweaters at Their Finest

This past Monday, we (Adam, Ava, and I) went to a cousin's Ugly Sweater party at Adam's sister's home. Thanks Dave and Mandy for hosting such a fun get together! (And thank you Penny for watching Brooks!) Using the festive photo booth props, we snapped pictures of everyone in their epic sweaters...some were adorned with reindeer & snowmen, others had sequins & bells, and a few had an assortment of cats...Meowy Christmas! ;)

My vote for best sweater goes to Adam's sister Sharla! Her fabulous, chunky, crocheted Christmas tree had jingle bells on it (a treat for the eyes and the ears) AND the tree snapped on and off...you know, options. ;) She even brought a veggie tray inspired by her sweater! Love that girl. :)

Dear Brooks,

It's your favorite day of the week: Daddy's day off. And while I was making us lunch I heard you two laughing in the dining room. Couldn't help but sneak in and snap a few pictures while you guys were being silly with Photo Booth...now wishing I would have filmed you too laughing and making those funny faces. :) I did get a pretty cute video yesterday of your epic bed bead after your nap. And I thought you had bad bed head way back when...you've perfected it now. I love how you model it for me in the video...and at the end when you say, "What is so funny?" I about die of cuteness.

I love you sweet boy! Thanks for always making us laugh.

Love,
Mom

Fishy Kisses

These were from a couple months ago...but they make me laugh every time, especially because I know that what the camera didn't catch was Brooks kissing me so hard I almost fell out of the chair. Ha!

Now go give someone ya love a big smooch with fishy lips! Followed by eskimo kisses...'tis the season. :)

And thanks for the book recommendations on my last post!

Ebelskivers and Backseat snuggles

General Conference mixed with ebelskivers, sink bathes, and plenty of snuggles makes for a great weekend. And we topped it off on Sunday night by driving to the Bountiful Temple.  We sat in the back of the car with the back door open for a gorgeous view of the temple, cozied up in lots of blankets and sipped on hot cocoa while we watched clips from the Mormon Channel app on Adam's iPad. That last little family portrait (minus Ava, she was asleep in her carseat) made Adam and me laugh so hard when we first saw it! And still does. ;)

Ava's late night giggles

I find that everything is funnier late at night.
Apparently Ava thinks the same thing. ;)

Happy Weekend!!

Weird Love

“We are all a little weird and life’s a little weird, and when we find someone whose weirdness is compatible with ours, we join up with them and fall in mutual weirdness and call it love.”

Soapy Alfalfas

Last Saturday these two took their first bath together in the kitchen sink. Talk about making my heart melt into a puddle...along with the puddle on the kitchen floor. And this past Saturday Brooks insisted on Ava joining him in mama's tub for a bath.  It was beyond adorable watching Brooks splash and seeing them both crack up!

And while getting them squeaky clean,
how could I resist giving them some soapy alfalfas?

Will someone please...

tell my mom to stop messing with my cheeks?
Anyone??

And happy Friday! I'm going on a walk to the park with my mom and brother today. :) What are your plans?

Ava

Blowing Milk Bubbles

Adam scored some major cool-dad points when he taught Brooks how to blow bubbles in his milk a couple days ago. Since then, it's become a favorite part of meal time (breakfast, lunch, and dinner) to, "Bow bubbles! Mi-ook!" He's pretty much a pro, and this morning he figured out that the bubbles can even overflow if he blows hard and long enough. At first he said, "Uh-ooooh," but then thought it was pretty funny when I just started laughing. Nothing a paper towel can't fix. :) And apparently the bubbles themselves are just as "Nummy!" as the milk. Cheers

Mr. T and cheese

Monday I opened up the good ol' Photobooth app, and this is what commenced...

Believe it or not, these are just a few from our photo sesh. My personal favorite is the colored-pencil one, fifth down...Brooks is smiling and Ava looks like Mr. T ...HA ;)

Brooks especially liked the multi-picture feature (the last two sets)...each time started with "oooo! OOooooo!" and then he got into the "cheeeeeese" mode. Cracked me up. :) And since then he has asked at least 5 times for "Cheese peeeeeaase!"
