a little yard work & a lot of LIFE

Today we started the day with a little yard work.
Adam mowed the lawn, and I pulled weeds in the front and back.

Then we relaxed with 2 bowls of LIFE while watching the latest Modern Family on Hulu. We got our LAUGH on alright...one of my favorite episodes up to date :)

I didn't put the LIFE away and somehow it was in reach of this little guy...
I couldn't resist snapping a few picks of my little LIFE bandit ;)
{ nothing a broom can't fix right }

Yay for a productive and sweet start to our Saturday!

Yee-HAW!

Yesterday, Little B strapped his boots on [or tiny socks] and yelled,
"Yee-haaaaaaaaaaaaaawwwwwww!"
while riding our friends' (the Bradshaws:) rocking horse.
SO. CUTE.
Hope you guys have a rip-roarin' good Friday!!
yep, I did just say that :)

oh Javier's, how we love you.

Or should I say,
O Javiers, te queremos.

yep, I have a few years of clase de espanol under my belt :)

Kitchen progress is...well...still in progress :) T-minus one week 'til I can [hopefully] cook again. (woohoo!)
But I'm not complaining, I haven't had to do dishes for the last few weeks.
And we've been to Javier's 3 times in the last 2 or so weeks.

Me gusta mucho comida mexicana. Ensaladas. Chimichangas. Horchata.
Si por favor.

pure silliness

We made this epic video on photobooth last month.
It goes to show a mom will do anything to make their baby smile :)

Adam hasn't seen it yet...but after he does, I don't think he'll be able to resist me ;) bahaHA.

It makes Little B and me laugh EVERY.TIME we watch it together!
Call us narcissistic, but we love watching ourselves in little videos...even with gimongous eyebrows and Jay Leno chins.

This is pure silliness.
Or just a typical way we entertain ourselves ;)

PS - Here are a few ultra silly photos from when Brooks was just 1 month old :)
Goodness we have too much together!

roses, handmade cards, kisses, and salt water taffy...

...that's what good Mother's Days are made of.

Oh, and sushi dinners.
sleeping in.
video chatting with my sweet Mom.
a phone call with our brother Danner serving on a mission.
and lots more kisses :)

Dear Brooks,

Hi sweet boy! My new friend Britney sent me this video on facebook, and she said it made her think of you and me :) It brought tears to my eyes...you've made me the luckiest mommy in the whole entire world.

If you listened to it, did you just love it Brooks?? Just in case, here are the lyrics to the song...I bolded the words that really made me smile, which is just about all of it :)

"HOURGLASS" by Mindy Gledhill

Little boy, when you speak
I can't help but kiss your cheeks
I love the way you grab my hands
And tell me all about your plans

Rocket high, comets fly
You and I could take a ride
And fly away to Neverland

And give our best to Peter Pan

When you reach for the stars
Don't forget who you are
And please don't turn around and grow up way too fast

See the sand in my grasp
From the first to the last
Every grain becomes a memory of the past
Oh, life's an hourglass
Life's an hourglass

Story's read, prayer is said
Close your eyes sleepyhead
While angels linger in your dreams
And hold you in their feathered wings

Just like you, I was small
Not that long ago at all
I wish you all the happiness
That God gives freely if you ask

When you reach for the stars
Don't forget who you are
And please don't turn around and grow up way too fast
See the sand in my grasp
From the first to the last
Every grain becomes a memory of the past
Oh, life's an hourglass
Life's an hourglass

{ above: tiny, wrinkly, baby legs
below: sweet, chubby, walking legs }
So these two pictures above, they are you! They captured sweet memories of you :) The first is when you were just a few days old...it's one of my favorites of you, you're glowing :) And I love your wrinkly forehead and little legs! The second photo is of you this past week. You love running around with little or now clothing...which is why you're not wearing pants, silly boy. I love how it shows your wonderfully chubby legs and how you've grown since being a tiny baby.

Well sweetheart, tomorrow is my second Mother's Day with you. I've looked forward to being a mom all my life...thank you for making my dreams come true. It is an honor to be your mother. Every memory we've had together is so precious to me, and just thinking of the many more to come makes my heart smile! Each and every day, I thank my Heavenly Father for letting me watch over you. Love you forever son!

Love,
Mom

a PERFECT early Mother's Day outing :)

Yesterday Adam took me down to Thanksgiving Point to celebrate Mother's Day a tad early...just the three of us :) to enjoy the Tulip Festival that was going on.

We soaked up a warm sun with a light breeze, saw thousands of gorgeous tulips in full bloom, smiled and laughed as we watched Brooks run around and explore, made a wish after tossing a penny in a fountain, snuck in a few sweet kisses here & there, and even snapped a few photos next to a fantastically large sculpture of Noah's Ark.

After a lovely time at the gardens, we went out for a delicious dinner at the Harvest Restaurant.
Brooks was so wonderful!! He's been a little too antsy lately to go anywhere nice, but he was so good! Adam about passed out from a food coma from his scrumptious buttermilk fried chicken and rich mashed potatoes. And we topped off our meal with creme brulee...that ended up being on-the-house just because :) It was SUCH a great night!
My two men make me the LUCKIEST girl out there! I'm so grateful to my amazing Adam for supporting me in my role as a mother, and my sweet Brooks who has made motherhood better than I ever dreamed.
