Tangled to the rescue

I first have to say how touched I am with the good wishes and get-well comments on the last post about Brooks being sick...thank you all for your thoughtfulness! :)

Yesterday we went to Dr. Witt...they weighed him (25 lbs...big boy!) and then took his oxygen levels, which were fantastic. Such a relieve! After checking his lungs and ears, Dr. Witt said his congested cough is coming from the nasal area, and the icky stuff is not is his lungs. *whew* So we've just got to let this darn illness take it's course...lots of rest and fluids and snuggles.

And today, while Brooks slept I got started on a few much-over-due loads of laundry. So when he woke up, I continued while he watched Tangled. Any other Disney movies Brooks could care less about, this is the only one he'll sit down and watch...to say he loves it is an understatement ;) So I propped him up with a pillow and let him watch it on Daddy's laptop, while I folded and listened. (I love that movie too:)

I even got a smile out of him! It may have been because I was coaxing him with a saltine cracker ;) He's on the mend though...we're working on those chapped lips too, I heart bagbalm...and hopefully when he gets completely better the sun will come out so we can get outside and soak up some vitamin D!!

Dear Brooks,

You've got a little bug.

You came down with something Saturday evening...a flemmy cough, stuffy nose, and an on-and-off fever. I wish I could take all the pain and discomfort away! Hurts my heart to see you so miserable.

And because you're feeling all icky you've been quite the mr. snuggles with Daddy and me. So while I'm nursing you back to health, and praying you get better soon, I am soaking up the time I have with you in my arms.
You're asleep right now, and when you wake up we're going to see Dr. Witt (best pediatrician in the world:) to see exactly what kind of bug you have, and if he has some medicine that can make you feel better.

Love you forever,
Mom

today.

Today Adam, Brooks, and I got to video chat on gmail with my sweet parents.
Oh how I miss them!!

It was great for them to be able to see and talk to Brooks :) He's feeling under the weather, but they got him to smile quite a few times...I know he loves his Grandma and Grandpa Stum!
And my mom has told me about his, but they were able to talk with Adam about how they have been biking maniacs lately!! They're training for a LONG bikeride they're doing together in August...camping out along the way and everything. They've become the ultimate biking nerds and they're proud of it :) They have matching reflective jackets, backpacks and side satchels (my mom rides her bike to the grocery store sometimes:), and even the little mirrors that clip onto their helmets. Goodness I love them.

And my sweet parents are the epitome of this quote:
I found this quote on pinterest...and I absolutely love it. I made me own print of it on picnik.com :)
It speaks a simple message full of truth.
So this week I'm going to make a goal to be better at truly going out of my way to do good every day.

a little yard work & a lot of LIFE

Today we started the day with a little yard work.
Adam mowed the lawn, and I pulled weeds in the front and back.

Then we relaxed with 2 bowls of LIFE while watching the latest Modern Family on Hulu. We got our LAUGH on alright...one of my favorite episodes up to date :)

I didn't put the LIFE away and somehow it was in reach of this little guy...
I couldn't resist snapping a few picks of my little LIFE bandit ;)
{ nothing a broom can't fix right }

Yay for a productive and sweet start to our Saturday!

Yee-HAW!

Yesterday, Little B strapped his boots on [or tiny socks] and yelled,
"Yee-haaaaaaaaaaaaaawwwwwww!"
while riding our friends' (the Bradshaws:) rocking horse.
SO. CUTE.
Hope you guys have a rip-roarin' good Friday!!
yep, I did just say that :)

oh Javier's, how we love you.

Or should I say,
O Javiers, te queremos.

yep, I have a few years of clase de espanol under my belt :)

Kitchen progress is...well...still in progress :) T-minus one week 'til I can [hopefully] cook again. (woohoo!)
But I'm not complaining, I haven't had to do dishes for the last few weeks.
And we've been to Javier's 3 times in the last 2 or so weeks.

Me gusta mucho comida mexicana. Ensaladas. Chimichangas. Horchata.
Si por favor.

pure silliness

We made this epic video on photobooth last month.
It goes to show a mom will do anything to make their baby smile :)

Adam hasn't seen it yet...but after he does, I don't think he'll be able to resist me ;) bahaHA.

It makes Little B and me laugh EVERY.TIME we watch it together!
Call us narcissistic, but we love watching ourselves in little videos...even with gimongous eyebrows and Jay Leno chins.

This is pure silliness.
Or just a typical way we entertain ourselves ;)

PS - Here are a few ultra silly photos from when Brooks was just 1 month old :)
Goodness we have too much together!
