Come what may and love it

After getting home from church and putting Brooks down for a nap, I watched this wonderful video...Elder Joseph B. Wirthlin (who passed about almost 3 years ago) was a man of God, and he shared some sweet ways to get through hard times in our lives:

First, laugh...
It's contagious and it does the body, heart, and mind good :)
Second, seek for the eternal...
Jesus Christ suffered so that he could succor His people...when I go through heartache I can use it to "increase [my] compassion and understanding for others."
Third, understand the principle of compensation...
"The faithful will know that every tear today will eventually be returned hundred-fold with tears of rejoicing and gratitude."
Fourth, put our trust in our loving Heavenly Father and His Son Jesus Christ...
"Do your best, then leave the rest to Him."

Through all of our trials, we can always find evidences of our Heavenly Father's love for us.
What a blessing.

This is by FAR one of my favorite talks. I try to use this when Adam and I come upon difficult circumstances in our lives and it definitely helps us make the most out of the hard times.
I loved your point about the tears of the faithful. That's so powerful and teaches of our Heavenly Father's great love and kindness and that whatever hardship we come across now, if we endure faithfully, that much more the blessings and joy in the next life.
Thanks for sharing!

Oh my word thank you for posting this Haley. The saying "Come What May and Love it" has been on my mind lately but i have not gotten around to reading the talk... I have been trying to learn how to "endure well" versus just "get through" the trials of life, so this has been an answer to prayer. The concluding sentence of the video also hit home: "The simple secret is this: put your trust in the Lord, and do your best, then leave the rest to Him."
So thank you. I LOVE reading your Sunday posts, they always give me a lift. i love you!
