Lucky Duck

Today was insanely warm, so we packed up a picnic and went to feed the ducks and geese at Barnes Park.  Those ducks gobbled up the yummy multi-grain bread, and one even got a bit feisty and snipped at Brooks' hand full of bread through the fence. Brooks was a tough little guy holding back his tears, and not holding a grudge. ;) From then on, he just preferred to be in Daddy's arms as he threw the bread to our hungry, feathered friends.

After the bread we brought for the ducks was gone, we laid out our blanket and set out our picnic dinner. It was a good spread. Our bellies quickly became full and happy. Then the boys headed over to the playground (I love watching them play together) while Ava and I relaxed on the blanket.

We stayed until the sun set and was out of sight, as if saying, "Good night." And on our drive home I couldn't help but think I am one lucky duck to have those three in my life...it's not a perfect life, but it's pretty wonderful.

So so so darling! Brooks looks like quite the little boy in these pictures--he and Jude would've made a good team feeding those ducks (after Jude got his fair share of bread ;)).
And HELLO super awesome wedged booties! Love them! I have a similar pair in black, but would kill for those in camel. Gosh--you're always so much cooler than me.

Oh and Jude's chino's are from H&M--super cheap, like $9--and my green pants are from Forever21 :)

Your kids have the best smiles!
I loved this park too! I had never been until this week. We need to go together for sure! The ducks snapped at Avery, and she thought it was hilarious. Made me super nervous though. Ducks and geese secretly kind of freak me out. Some new info for you about me. :-)

Your kids are getting so big and as adorable as ever! Thinking about poor Brooks being brave and holding back those crocodile tears makes me so sad, though! What a sweetie.

Aww! :( So sad little Brooks got snapped! But what a trooper he was not holding a grudge. :) I don't always get friendly with the ducks...I've been snapped myself. ;)

What a great picnic! Those sandwiches look SO tasty!!

We (readers) are lucky ducks, too! We get to sit in on your sweet little family adventures. :D Keep 'em coming, sweet friend!

TOMS wedges?! On my wish list. Hubs knows the great love I have for them.. here's to hoping they make it into my Christmas stocking ;)

What a fun day! Your little man is so cute.. I think my son would have had the same reaction. Everything just looks safer from Daddy's arms. haha
