Two weekends ago, Adam joined my Dad and four brothers for a guys' trip to Lake Tahoe. Everyone flew in from Washington (Dad and Steve), Southern California (Nate), Utah (Adam and Justin), and Arizona (Ryan)...missed Duane though! Adam said the resort they stayed at was incredible, and that the lake was gorgeous. Warm days and clear waters were perfect for kayaking, paddle boarding, and cliff jumping! Adam said they enjoyed some great guy-time and plenty of lively debates and discussions. ;)
Then, bright and early Saturday morning, came the Tough Mudder.
"Tough Mudder events are hardcore 10-12 mile obstacle courses designed by British Special Forces to test your all around strength, stamina, mental grit, and camaraderie. With the most innovative courses, half a million inspiring participants, and more than $3 million raised for the Wounded Warrior Project, Tough Mudder is the premier adventure challenge series in the world."
That description is found on the Tough Mudder website...pretty awesome right?? :) The first two pictures below are ones my Dad took after they finished the race as a team so they aren't in them, but it gives you a little taste. And those yellow strings aren't crazy-long spaghetti noodles in that second picture below, that event is called "Shock Therapy". Adam told me one of those volt-filled strings zinged his shoulder pretty bad, "...felt like someone hit me in the shoulder with a baseball bat." Then he laughed. He and the rest of my brothers and Dad were crazy for doing all of that. And I love 'em for it.

I'm so glad they had some relaxing/crazy-He-man time away from work...but I was pretty giddy to pick up my handsome man from the airport on Sunday. The kids and I were so happy to have Adam home!
