Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays!
Adam, Haley, Brooks the blinker, and Ava
Yesterday we tried to hit two birds with one stone:
One, cutting down our Christmas tree. And two, snapping a few photos for our Christmas card.
They both only half-happened, but the two halves make one whole right? ;)
The Christmas tree farm was "sold out" and much smaller than we expected...but we figured we'd still give the picture a try! Welp, we're definitely going to try again this weekend. Of the 5 pictures that the sweet farm owner took, they were either blurry or someone was blinking, or both. Ha! She was so kind though...taking the time to show us her chickens (Brooks loved the white one with the awesome head of feathers) and even let us help feed their cow, Norman.
It quickly got dark, but we headed to Tri-City Nursery to see if we could find a good, pre-cut tree. And we found the one! We hauled it home and put it up, I still laugh thinking of Adam and I rotating the tree and stuffing magazines under two legs of the tree-stand to get it straight. ;) And I loved how happy Brooks was to have a "Big chwee!" in the house. I warmed up some white bean chicken chili leftovers from the night before and then we danced to Christmas music in the kitchen. It was a good night.
Tonight we'll be decorating our tree, I can barely wait to have that Christmas tree glow. For now, I'm in heaven with its woodsy smell. Happy weekend!
