I just wanted to write you a little note, thanking you so much for being such a good man to me...especially the last couple days. When I woke up at 3 am Thursday morning, feeling nauseous and swearing my right ta-ta was going to explode, I tried everything to relieve the pain and sooth my fever/chills....nursing Ava, taking a warm shower and then a bath, pumping, and just trying to get back to sleep. I didn't mean to, but I woke you at about 5:30am from my shivering and crying (I was so out of it). After I told you what I was feeling, you looked it up on WebMD and figured out I had mastitis. :( I wanted so badly to just get back to sleep, but you insisted you'd text our family doctor (who happens to be a good friend) and I'm so grateful you did! He came right over to make sure I didn't have an abscess, and confirmed it was definitley mastitis. He gave me shot in my tush, and those beautiful drugs worked so fast! My pain and nausea went away and I was able to get some much needed sleep. But before going back to dreamland, I needed to pump (doctor's orders) and you stayed up and watched SNL clips online with me...laughing with you made me hate that painful pumping a little less. Then we both got some glorious sleep. After Brooks woke up, you took him with you to pick up the prescribed antibiotics and you've made sure I take it and the other pain relievers at the right times. You also made sure I got lots of sleep while you played with the littles. You even got Ava to drink 1 ounce of milk I had pumped from a bottle! You're such a good Dad and I know the kids loved it, but I'm sure it wasn't quite the day off you expected this week. Thank you for taking care of me. I feel so much better today...still sore and tired, but no crazy nausea. I love you.
PS - Thank you for picking up some soup on your way home from work for this feverish, achey body of mine...oh and donuts and milk. :) You're the best.
