Pear & Gorgonzola pizza...all you pizza fans, it'll rock your world :)

Last week on one of my favorite blogs, WhipperBerry, I saw a link to a delicious looking pear pizza with caramelized onion and bleu cheese. It reminded me of when I experienced my first pear and gorgonzola pizza at California Pizza Kitchen. (read about the epic experience here)
I decided to make it for dinner last night (with gorgonzola instead of bleu cheese)...to celebrate our first FHE (family home evening...family night) of 2011!

Here's how I made this mind-blowingly good pizza...so easy, yet so decadent!
{thinly slice your onions, and your pears...then caramelize)

Spread some barbecue sauce and add the toppings!
(I didn't have enough time to make the dough from scratch, but I used a pizza crust mix that i just added water & some minced onions to add some flavor)
{diced mozzarella...caramelized onion...crumbled gorgonzola...caramelized pears}

{Pop it in the oven at 475 degrees for about 10-15 minutes}

{Finally top your hot pizza with a fresh spring mix of lettuce and arugula}

It was divine my friends. I had to use some major will-power not to have thirds so that Adam could have a slice in his lunch today at work.
Yea, I love him that much :)

PS - I linked up to these two wonderful blogs...go see who else did!

Sean can't eat onions but i LOVE them - this is so right up my alley..

question? what sauce was on the pizza? could you use a light olive oil pesto sauce?

I don't even like onions...and that looks absolutely delicious! YUMMMMM!

I think I'll try to make it this weekend!

Glad you ladies like the idea! seriously do it, you'll die :)

Eva Marie, you could totally make the pizza with onions just on one half :) And I added to the post that it was a BBQ sauce, thanks for catching that! if you try your olive oil pesto sauce you'll have to let me know how it turns out! And below is a link to another recipe with a different sauce (more like the one at CPK). The BBQ sauce was delicious, but I'm going to try the gorgonzola sauce next time!
