Adventures with Ashton

Today I was lucky enough to spend the day with my awesome nephew Ashton :)
He is the older brother of sweet Bennett, so I was excited to spend some one-on-one time with him and let his sweet Mommy Mandy have the day to herself.

Ash is a gregarious little 3 year old, who looooooooovvvvees anything with wheels. Actually, that may be an understatement. While we were out-and-about today, ANY time he saw a truck or large vehicle he'd say,
"CAR!"
or "BIG TRUCK!"
or "FIRE TRUCK! Did you hear the fire truck!?"
Too adorable. We'd talk about what color it was and what kind of people may ride those different vehicles. It got me so excited for when Brooks and I can talk together, especially about cute boyish-things :)

We first went grocery shopping.
Ashton was such a stud and held on to the side of the cart and cruised along with me the whole time.
He even gave me some shopping tips:
Applesauce, cheese (he was really excited about Pepper Jack actually), yogurt, and a Reeces peanut butter cups were musts ;)

Then we stopped for lunch at Arctic Circle...which had a play-land. SCORE.
He went up and down that slide at least 24,706 times. Oh to be a kid again :)
I took the first bite of the corn dog to make sure it wasn't too hot...after which I was regretting my choice of a grilled chicken burger. I love me a corn dog (a very guilty pleasure of mine).
One of the many reasons I love Utah: FRY SAUCE
heehee Look at that saucy grin :)
And of course we topped it off with "smoothies"...strawberry & Butterfinger milkshakes.

We went to D.I. (a thrift store) after getting lunch. It was a gold mine for me today. Found an adorable teapot, red pencil skirt, plaid button up, and a nice pair of heels.
And Ashton got a truck. Of course :)

After a long nap for both the boys, we watched a movie.
Can you guess what it was???
Why, Disney's "CARS" of course :)
Ashton loooooovves that movie. And so do I. Win-win.
And we enjoyed our movie with a bowl of freshly popped popcorn.
Can't wait for our play date next week!!

Aww that little man is adorable. I got some great finds at DI the other day too although unlike you, I can't stand Utah. It's so smoggy and I get headaches all the time from the bad air quality.

What is Artic Circle? Cute photos of the day! I've never actually seen Cars but I think I'd like it.

haha the boys i watch love trucks to and yell "TRUCK" at them every time at the top of their lungs; however, the cannot pronounce their "t's" yet, so they use and "f"

it's rather amusing, until you are in public. and it's clear as a bell. for everyone to judge. :) haha

also, same situation with the word "sucker"...

Oh, so much fun!! I love little boys, and he is by far one of the cutest toddlers ever! I need to find an Arctic Circle, but I have a feeling I'd have to drive hundreds of miles to do so. :)

What a cute auntie you are. Boys really are such a blast.

I remember thinking the same thing when Caleb was little. I was so excited to talk to him about things. I can attest it's even better than I imagined. Knowing what is going on in their cute little heads is magical.

We bought the movie "Cars" for Caleb over Christmas. It is by far his favorite movie. I think it is super cute.

Ashton is a doll. I'm sure it will be such a blessing for him to have your little guy to play with.

What a good sister-in-law you are to give his Mom a break like that. She needs one, thats for sure. You inspire me to be a better person and you must be a good writer because I don't follow blogs but for some reason I seem to be following yours. Thanks!
