an italian cafe and ice castles

Yesterday was Adam's day off this week, so we took a little trip to Midway, Utah...I've had this surprise activity planned for Adam's birthday for a couple weeks, but one thing after another has come up so we had to wait 'til now...and I was so excited we could finally go! I knew we had to visit the Ice Castles in Midway after seeing the stunning photos that the lovely Carolee took there...remember Carolee? of coures you do ;)

Upon arriving in Midway we were on the lookout for a place to eat...we picked Café Galleria (I love restaurants that are in old houses:)
As soon as we walked in, we were hit by a warm wave of the fresh aroma of baked pizza...we knew we picked the right place! We sipped hot chocolate ... devoured a DELICIOUS pear & gorgonzola salad ... and thoroughly enjoyed a goat cheese & roasted pepper pizza and a sicilian sausage pizza. Brooks enjoyed some sips of Daddy's cocoa and one of Mommy's crusts...along with a bottle and some apple sauce we brought :)

After dinner we headed to the ice castles...they pop out of a little neighborhood and are quite the magical sight!! We layered and bundled up little B then headed into the castles. Adam had Brooks on his back, and me on his arm as we walked through the winter wonderland. The glowing ice, all lit-up, was gorgeous!!
We warmed up next to the heaters, Brooks loved it :) and then hurried to the car to warm up again and start out drive home...such a fun night!! Can't wait to go back next year when our little B will be able to walk around and explore with us...then it will really be magical ;)

And after looking at that pizza I'm quite hungry too!

Wow. This is so cool! (Quite litterally!) I love the photo of you guys smooching with little Brooks on your man's back. Adorable. He will proabably say "eww" when he gets older...but he will know that you two love each other. Cuteness :)

Little B looks like he had a blast - and of course the both of you as always :) Love the letter pictures.

There is something sweet around being in cold weather with the ones you love. You get to snuggle in real close!

Glad you guys had fun, have a fantastic weekend Haley
