Girls Camp 2011 was...

...just what I needed :)
Being in nature and surrounded by such awesome young women was just what my spirit needed! These girls are so beautiful, inside and out...and I'm so glad that the theme our church decided to emphasize this year was their inner beauty and focused on who they truly are: daughters of a loving Heavenly Father.

Watching random acts of kindess, seeing girls read their scriptures, seeing their smiling faces, and hearing them share their feelings of Christ makes me want to be a better person!
I know that God knows what each of these girls go through every minute of every day...they know that obstacles will come at them, and with faith in their Savior they can overcome anything.

Along with inspiring lessons, testimonies, and devotionals there was also plenty of
hiking,
junk food,
facial masks,
french braiding,
staying up late,
talking about boys,
challenge course activities,
canoeing,
scripture study,
live entertainment by accapella group Vocalocity,
eating s'mores & roasted starbursts,
smelling like campfire,
snipe hunts,
and oh-so much laughing!

...lots of pictures because there were lots of memories! :)
Explanation for photo above: Louisa and I had tooth paste on our faces for snipe hunting ;)

Who of you have gone on a good ol' snipe hunt??

Snipe hunting. haha I have done that a time or two. ;)

James eats peanut butter and fluff sandwiches all the time.GAG It makes me sick. Supposdly it's really popular back east so when I saw the picture of the fluff, peanut butter and oreo I thought of that.

Looks like you had soo much fun. Those girls are lucky to have you as their leader. :)

What a fun time! There's just something about camp...being out in the wilderness, dodging snakes and imaginary bears, rowing in leaky old canoes, and staying up late telling stories and talking.

I have so many wonderful memories of camp with my youth group at church...I'll always remember having a prayer circle around a roaring campfire at the top of a mountain and sneaking around the woods with flashlights to prank the guys' cabins.

Looks like you girls had a GREAT time at camp!

This brings back memories for me of my own little experiences including YOU at girls camp:-) Like getting chased with a broom, singing "goodnight sweetheart" (or rather, "badoodoodoodoo" from you and I-ha!) and of course- SCHMACK! Love it!

Glad you had such a fantastic time! I love that photo of the canoes all lined up. It'd be great to have a day by a lake right about now. :)

Ahhhh how fun is this! I someday (maybe soon) want to be called to Young Womens! I am currently in the youngest nursery playing with little 2 year olds! Looks like it was a blast and life changing them :) I think I've been to your blog before and if I'm not following I was going to now...but Google Friend Connect is being lame...so we will see if I can make it happen! :)

I am sooooo jealous you got to go to girls camp! Seriously, that is one of my favorite past times. I remember one year I was a YL and for dessert we had ice cream sandwiches around the campfire. Me and one of my girls kept stealing them out of the ice box. Pretty sure we ate like 10 of them each. Easy. So glad you got to go! Looks like you have some very precious memories to look back on :)
