friends that cook

...we're blessed to have 'em :)
One of Adam's good friends from high school, Nicole, heard we weren't feeling too hot and was so thoughtful to offer to bring over dinner last night. Yesterday morning after 13 hours of sleep Adam woke up a new man! :) So I texted Nicole and told her not to worry about dinner because, thank goodness, we were all feeling much better...and she replied with, "No worries! Dinner is still on me :) It can be a celebratory 'we survived the flu' dinner." How sweet is she??! So later that afternoon she brought over homemade butternut squash soup, fresh homemade bread, pomegranate jelly, and juicy strawberries.
[ check out that little toe peeking out in the above picture! heehee...think we need to retire those PJs soon?]
That bread was epic! And braided, which I think somehow made it taste even better :) Having some to dip in the soup, and some with that pomegranate jelly made it impossible not to have 4 slices with dinner...and 2 this morning with breakfast :)
Thank you Nicole!!
