mini date...and iphone love

Two weekends ago my phone died...just stopped working. Whaaaa? But you know what that means? We got to go to Adam's mecca: the Apple Store. And we made a little date out it too. Brooks was over at Penny's, and we enjoyed our nice drive to The Gateway to get my phone replaced and then grab a little something for brunch. A tall Starbucks cream-based (non-coffee) vanilla bean frappuccino with caramel on the side was calling my name...and they happen to now have breakfast sandwiches! (pretty sure courtesy of Jimmy Dean, but they were tasty nonetheless). I loved every minute of our mini-date...holding hands, talking about how peeps at the Apple Genius Bar (customer support) rock, discussing halloween costume ideas, telling Adam about the funniest things Brooks has been doing at home lately, and sneaking in plenty of kisses in between. We need these mini-dates more often :)

Oh and since Apple and the iPhone was involved in our little date, I think I'll share what Adam was just giddy about to tell me when he got home from work last night...the iPhone 5 specs are going to be announced this Tuesday (Oct. 4)! :) After showing me the email with the info, he looked at me all excited and said (in all seriousness), "We should have an iPhone party," to which I replied with a little snicker, and then, "Totally babe." He looks forward to every new iPhone release like it's Christmas. Goodness I love my Apple nerd :)

And check this out! My friend posted this on Facebook yesterday...oh I sure hope it fits the iPhone 5. If so, you can bet that bad boy will be one of Adam's stocking stuffers come December. Mwahaha!
{ here's the UO site where you can order that rad iphone case }

THAT sounds like the perfect date! It's true that you don't have to make a planned out night of activities to have a good date--I actually rather enjoy our random ice cream cone runs when we get out of a movie early. And that frapp IS CALLING MY NAME. Getting that one next time..fo sho.
p.s. My Adam is SUPER nerdy with Apple as well. He can rattle off Steve Jobs' biography like it's his job. And he is super excited for the iPhone 5 too! We're both planning on getting one. My first iPhone--hopefully I'm not a total idiot with it.

I loved your comment! I actually grew up in the Portland area (hillsboro) so I'm in love with overcast and rain :) After you left your comment I went back and read your birth story. Intense! I'm obsessed with reading natural birth stories, and yours was just as awesome. And congrats on your new babe! You make one adorable pregnant lady!

Sometimes unexpected mini dates are the very best dates of all! I love little trips to stores with my man...especially when they involve buying new things. Teehee. :)

That first snapshot of your sweet hand-holding session is just the BEST. Looks s artsy. AND lovely.

I am an iphone nerd...like your hubby. If I lived nearby, I'd totally be up for an iphone party. ;)

& I saw that Zach Morris phone cover the other day. HAHAHAHA! It makes me laugh out loud. Fabulous!!
