Perfect Picker-Upper

That was a little Vine video from earlier today. :) We had a fun, family lunch date at Kneaders after stealing Adam away from work...wish we could do it more often. Fantastic food with my favorite people, it was the perfect picker-upper.

While there, Adam snapped a picture (right photo) of me getting an extra sweet kiss--as he had blueberry lemon loaf crumbs on his lips--from Brooks. And it's almost identical to one he took of us at Kneaders almost two years ago on Brooks' 1st birthday (left photo). Love that boy! Can't believe he will be three (three!) in less than a month.

No matter how long it's been...

You know those friends that you don't get to see nearly as often as you'd like...as in, years pass between hugs? But no matter how long it's been it only takes a few minutes of talking that you're cheeks hurt from laughing so hard (that's for you Shay;) and it feels like you're back in middle school all over again, talking about cute boys and sharing Lip Smackers...except now you're talking about your cute husbands and sharing red lipstick. haha!  Well, that's what it was like last week. I loved kicking off the new year going out to lunch with old friends...two of my best friends, Makinzie and Shalyn. Goodness I love those two! And it was pretty awesome watching our three little ones together (missing Brooks who spent the afternoon with Daddy) who were born just weeks apart. Ava was one lucky lady spending the day with cute Brody and Lincoln. ;)

Love and miss you ladies already! xo

PS - Remember this Kinz and Shay?? General Conference weekend, April 2007...good times. :)

Friday & Saturday in polaroids

{ polaroids created with this app }

Enjoying great food and beautiful weather with my favorite people...makes for a wonderful weekend indeed!

One of my favorite parts of the weekend was enjoying the cherry-topped VaNIElla cupcake from The Sweet Tooth Fairy. I put the cherry aside and proceeded to act like a teenager, showing off to my hot date by tying the cherry stem in a knot with my mouth...still got it. ;)

What was your favorite part of the weekend??

Read 2 Peter 1. Verse 2 stuck out to me..."Grace and peace be multiplied unto you through the knowledge of God, and of Jesus our Lord,"
Physical Health:
I'm back in it! :) Went to Boot Camp at the gym, bright and early this morning with Kira :)  I used half the weight she and the rest of the class used, and it still got me feeling the burn!

Summer is...

So it is still May...but when you have a day like today, you can't help but feel like it's summer. :)

We had friends over, two for me (Kira and Adriana) and three for Brooks (Grant, Avery, and Samantha). Everybody wins! ;) After eating our lunch of watermelon, salad, and hawiian pizza that I jazzed up with coconut and almonds (turned out great!), we headed outside to enjoy the warm weather! We soaked up some sun, the kids had fun in the sprinklers (for about 5 minutes;), and we all sipped on coconut limeades and strawberry-coconut margaritas (virgin of course;).

Love those friends, and love days like these.

Spiritual Health:
Read John 13...I was really touched by the conversation between Christ and Peter (in verses 8 & 9) as Christ is about to wash His servants' feet..."Peter saith unto him, Thou shalt never wash my feet. Jesus answered him, If I wash thee not, thou hast no part with me. Simon Peter saith unto him, Lord, not my feet only, but also my hands and my head."

A walk to the park, chicken curry pasta salad, cute kids, sidewalk chalk, dandelions, lots of ants, great friends...

...that's what our afternoon was filled with.

Thanks Kira for bringing lunch!
(I ate her d.e.l.i.c.i.o.u.s chicken curry pasta salad before I could even get a picture. Just thinking about it now is making my stomach rumble ;)

Today has been a good day, a very good day.  Now off to get a snack ready for Brooks when he wakes up from his nap...he must have grown an inch, he's been asleep for over 3 hours!

Oh it's been way too long since I've done Personal Progress!  Loved the value experience I worked on today while Brooks has napped and I nursed Ava :)  It was the Faith Value Experience #2...I read Alma 56:45–48 and 57:21 (love the mothers of Helaman's stripling warriors!) and I'm going to call my Mom tonight and ask about her thoughts on the qualities a woman needs in order to teach children to have faith and to base their decisions on gospel truths. Can't wait to talk with her, she always has incredible thoughts and advice on spiritual topics :)

Party of two & three quarters

Yesterday Brooks and I were lucky enough to meet up with my sweet cousin Kirstey for a late lunch of sushi! When we walked into the restaurant, the server asked, "Party of two?" and I said, "and a half, counting Brooks." :) And with a big smile, looking at my belly, Kirstey corrected me and said, "Two and three quarters!" Goodness I love that girl! We enjoyed edamame, gyoza (Brooks looooooved it), and I had a delicious veggie roll. Almost made me forget how much I miss the good (raw) stuff.
After sushi, we headed to Kirst's apartment :) She was so great and let Brook have a bouncing, dance party on her bed. We blasted the music and had fun laughing our heads off while watching Brooks' awesome dance moves ;) Then she made hot cocoa for us, and we visited some more...and played some more. Brooks LOVED having Kirstey chase him around the apartment, and running into her arms after saying, "Ready??....Set??...GO!"
Time went by much too quickly and before you knew it was getting dark and we knew we had to leave for dinner...but we loved every minute with you Kirst! Thanks for spending the afternoon with us, and for letting us see your darling apartment...that little Christmas tree made me all sorts of happy :)

What I'm craving today...

Making a baby has a few game rules, one of which is no sushi (with raw fish). But that's exactly what I'm craving today!...sushi with this girl :)

Brooks and I were lucky enough to enjoy a sushi date with the lovely Britney and her little boy last time I was back home in Vancouver. She married an Adam too :) who happened to be a good friend of mine from Washington. I kept up with her, Adam, and their adorable little man Jude on their sweet blog, A Private Tour...and was so excited to get together and finally meet in person! Goodness that girl is fantastic...from her blog I figured she was sweet yet sassy, hilarious, has a awesome sense of style, and is such a fun little mom...she is all that and more. I so, so wish we lived closer!! I am glad though that the good old internet keeps us up on each others' lives...her little Jude is growing up so fast!! And I lived vicariously through her when she posted about her latest awesome aventure to the Oregon Coast...okay, so now I'm craving sushi with Brit, at the coast.

Oh, and I've craving a Burgerville shake too (which we had after the sushi)...*sigh* a girl can dream, right??
