HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO OUR SWEET BOY!!
Yesterday our little Brooks turned ONE.
We started the day off with some yummy birthday oatmeal...with a glowing candle, of course :) It only got to glow for about 3 seconds before he reached out his curious little hand, and I quickly blew it out. ;)
Get ready for tons and tons of pictures of the birthday boy!!
(really, did you expect anything different?)
Later, we met up with Daddy for a birthday lunch at Kneaders...birthday crown and all.
Paninis for Mom & Dad, and blueberry bread and vegetable soup for the birthday boy!
Below you can see him pointing his cute little finger...I'd like to think he's telling us how old he is ;) And we gave him too many sweet birthday kisses to count!
After getting home I made my little man a birthday shirt while he napped :)
"Look WHOO's 1" ...got the adorable idea from Shawntae :) I used spray adhesive to get the fabric pieces on, so I still need to sew on the pieces. And it's a little big for Brooks now, but I think he looks like a little stud in it.
After dinner our sweet friends, Penny, Aaron & their adorable daughters, came over to bring Brooks a gift :) Written on the card was "To my teeny-tiny boyfriend"...heehee! Along with a cute shirt, they gave him a wonderful book called "I Want To Fly"...I know what book we're reading for bedtime tonight!
Then Grandma & Grandpa Kjar came over to wish little B a happy happy birthday.
It was so cute seeing him help Grandma open his present...he LOVED the little teddy bear, and we all loved the gift card to Deseret Book (excited to let him pick out some fun books!), AND the sweet gift of a recorded story book. They'll read/record the story with their voices, so he'll have Grandma and Grandpa be able to read to him whenever he wants :)
Then, to finish off the night we put some mini chocolate carrot cupcakes together in the shape of a ONE...topped one with a birthday candle, and Adam & I blew it out and made wishes for our little man.
Brooks we love you and can't tell you enough how happy you've made your father and I this past year. You're our big one-year old and we're so proud to be your parents! Can't wait to see what this next year holds for you :)
