Picnic on the hardwood floor.

It was rather rainy out today, so to brighten it up we had a little picnic inside. Nutella sandwiches, raspberries, apple slices + almond butter...with my two favorite littles. It was a lovely afternoon indeed!

Moon Park + a video

Our afternoon at Moon Park today was the best we've had in a while. I'm so glad I decided before hand that I'd get some video...because goodness, Brooks and Ava were as sweet as honey to each other, which isn't always the case. ;) From watching them share apples and gold fish crackers, to helping me draw stars with sidewalk chalk, to playing in the sand and cracking each other up, I couldn't help but feel oh-so grateful to call them mine. It's afternoons like these that make up for the grocery store tantrums, the sleepless nights, and the silliest fights over not wanting to share the silliest "toys" (kitchen utensils as of late).

The song on the video is "I Take Flight" from Mindy Gledhill's new album Pocketful of Poetry...isn't it just magic??  I can't help but hope that my children always know that even though they'll be my babies forever, I also relish in their daily moments of taking flight to learn and grow. 

Pizza Picnic at Castle Park

Just looking at these pictures, from a lovely night out with my little family last month, puts the biggest smile on my face. From the tasty pizza picnic, watching Adam love on Ava, goofing around with my sweet boy, and soaking in the last of the setting sun...what happiness is made of I tell ya.

Nutella Toast and Mint Tea

The other day while Ava was in dreamland, I made a snack for Brooks and I. My sister Corrie was the one who told me about the insanely delicious combination of mint herbal tea (Bigelow brand is my fave) and Nutella on toast...try it, you'll see, and you can thank her. :) Since I was missing her, it sounded perfect. Brooks was not a fan of the tea, I drank both mugs. But you can bet he enjoyed every lick and every bite of the Nutella toast, we both did.

This morning...

...that happened.

Adam has been gone for the past week with his parents and brothers at the annual guys' getaway to watch the NCAA Wrestling Championships (their "March Madness"). He got back late last night, and I about melted into a puddle when I brought Ava into our room this morning, and she practically leapt out of my arms to get to her Daddy. Then they continued to just soak each other up.

Yea, I was a goner. :)
